The Farm Shed East Coast Wine Centre in Bicheno is a one stop cellar door for all 22 small family owned award winning vineyards/producers in our east coast wine region. Grapes were first planted here more than 180 years ago but died out until the modern wine industry emerged in the 1970's. Several vineyards are also sheep farms (family owned through seven generations dating from first white settlement) and are international award winning superfine merino wool producers. Diversifying and value adding by planting grape vines to manage the vagaries of drought and other agricultural risks. The region is now the 3rd largest in Tasmania and annually boasts award winning pinot noir, chardonnay, riesling and sparkling wine with a few other smaller interesting varieties.
We have selected 21 wines from 12 producers to showcase what our East coast region has to offer.
