Black Olive Merlot

Our Merlot runs from row 1 to row 29 which sits on the bottom end of our vineyard and in the centre of this block we have a number of gum trees. In particular there is an old Black Olive tree which each year yields an excellent extra virgin oil with a beautiful aroma and soft texture. Because of this unique situation we feel it’s appropriate to name our unique style of Merlot, Black Olive.

Fruit sourced from our vineyard in Lyndoch, Barossa Valley.

100% Merlot

Colour: Deep ruby red, brilliant and elegant.

Aroma: Rich and complex, ripe cherry fruit with hints of blackcurrant and plum.

Palate: Full bodied and smooth to the palate, with rich plum, black berries flavors, has great length with lingering ripened wild berries to finish.

To be enjoyed with fine foods such as duck, meat, gamey, cheese and pasta al pomodoro

Winemaker Notes: Once again our small patch of Merlot has produced an outstanding fruit to provide our “AFFEZIONATI” a Merlot that is rich in color, nose and palate, displaying complexity and excellent fruit flavors. A well balanced and elegant wine that can be enjoyed now and in years to come.
